Exeter’s Patino makes team

Decorah, Iowa – Robert Patino, a 2009 graduate of Exeter Union High School, is a member of the Luther College wrestling team.

The Norse enter the 2012-13 campaign with 18 returning letter winners and eight returning starters, that includes one All-American from last season’s squad that posted a dual meet record of 13-5. In the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) pre-season poll, Luther is ranked 9th in the NCAA III.

Luther is led by Dave Mitchell who begins a two-year tenure as the president of the NCAA III NWCA this year. Mitchell, who was inducted into the NWCA Hall of Fame in 2010, begins his 17th season at the helm of the Norse program. He is the all-time leader for career dual meet victories with record of 201-94-6. He has coached 46 All-Americans, eight national champions, four national runner-ups, 33 Scholar All-Americans and two NCAA Postgraduate Scholars.

Luther begins the 2012-13 dual meet schedule at home against #22 University of Dubuque on Friday, Nov. 30 at 7:00 p.m.

Patino is the son of Bobby and Julia Patino of Exeter, Calif. The Luther College sports information department will once again video stream all of Luther’s home dual meets free of charge. The link can be found on the Luther athletics web site at http://luther.edu/sports.
