Gene Perkett

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, at the Exeter District Cemetery.

He passed away Dec. 19 in Porterville at the age of 84.

Gene was born on Nov. 13, 1928 in Bragg, Okla to Eva (Taylor) and Perry Perkett.

They moved to the Farmersville area as a child. He married the former Johnnie M. Keenom and they made their home in Farmersville. He worked as a child care provider for more than 40 years. Gene was a member of the Farmersville Baptist Church for many years. He loved his Model A and was a “Cowboy”

He is preceded in death by his wife who passed away in 1998 and his daughter, LadyBug.

Gene is survived by his son, Rocky of Oregon; his daughter-in-law Edith of Porterville; his sister Faye of Coalinga; and his grandchildren Jason, Sammy, Jonathan, Sarah and Boyd, Ryan and Colby.
