Girls Basketball: Lindsay continuing to play hard

The Lindsay High School girl’s basketball team has been playing at a high level all season long. And in the Mid Winter Showcase in Tulare, the Cardinals have not let up on that high level of play.

On Dec. 27 the Cardinals took on Golden West of Visalia, and cruised to a 53-29 victory. Later on that day, Lindsay had a rematch against Redwood.

The last time the two schools faced each other, Redwood came away with a 69-62 victory. This time around the game was even closer.

Even though the Cardinals fall again to the Rangers, it was a hard fought game as the Redwood edged out Lindsay 37-36.

So far on the season the Cardinals are 8-3 overall and are 1-1 in the Mid Winter Showcase tournament.

After tournament play is over, the Cardinals will be back on the court Wednesday, Jan. 9 to take on Sierra.

The Cardinals are not the only local team in the Mid Winter Showcase. The Woodlake Tigers took on Merced High School in the Showcase on Dec. 27 in Tulare.

The Tigers just could not keep up with Merced as the Bears beat the Tigers 55-15. So far on the season the Tigers are 1-6 with their lone victory coming against Farmersville.

After tournament play is over for the Tigers, Woodlake will be back on the court on Friday, Jan. 4 at Exeter.
