Club Exeter Volleyball opened their 2013 season

The club Exeter volleyball team (CEV) opened their 2013 winter-spring season at the NCVA sponsored California Kick-off in San Jose. CEV won 4 and lost 2 to move from a 70th start seed to a 17th place finish in the field of 126 teams.

The following Sunday the same group entered the 18 and under division at the NCVA area league qualifier. They finished 4th in their nine team group.

This past weekend in the area league, the CEV continued to play well as they placed 2nd in their 8 team group.

Ashlynn Kausen did an outstanding job at the setter position feeding top hitters Cheyenne Will (128), Allie Fry (122), Gabby Crookshanks (102) and Kaitlynn Kaugen (41). Melissa Wing led the defense with 82 digs and 26 aces.

The team is coached by head coach Alana Montgomery and by assistant coaches Bruce Montgomery and Christi Oates.

CEV also has area league teams in the 16 year old divisions coached by Jen Smith while Michelle Kauados, Laura Brinkman, Tiffany Diaz and Annabelle Lamb all coach the 14 year olds.
